Climate in Pamplona

Pamplona, the capital of Navarre, lies in a basin surrounded by hills at 449 metres above sea level, at the confluence of several rivers including the Arga. Its climate is transitional oceanic-Mediterranean, with both Atlantic and continental influences. The annual average temperature is around 12.5 °C, with warm summers peaking at 28 °C and cold winters where lows regularly fall below 0 °C.

Annual rainfall ranges between 700 and 800 mm, distributed fairly evenly, though with higher totals in spring and autumn. Snowfall is relatively frequent in winter, averaging several snow days per year. Pamplona sits in a corridor between the Pyrenean range and the Pre-Pyrenean sierras, exposing it to cold northerly winds in winter and favouring the formation of fog in the basin on cold-season mornings.
