In Spain

It is the dominant climate across most of Spain: Mediterranean coast, peninsular interior (continental variant), Balearics, and south. It supports iconic crops like olive, vine, citrus, and almond, all adapted to summer drought. Climate change is shifting the Mediterranean climate zone northward and aridifying southern Spain.
