Tropical climate (Af/Am/Aw in Köppen) extends between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. Equatorial (Af) has year-round rain; monsoon (Am) has a brief dry season; savanna (Aw) has a marked dry season. Temperatures are high and constant: annual temperature range <5 °C.
Tropical climate does not exist in mainland Spain, but the eastern Canary Islands border on arid subtropical. The Hadley cell and ITCZ regulate tropical seasons.
