Province climate

A Coruna, the capital of the province of the same name in Galicia, extends over a península in the far northwest of the Iberian Península, directly exposed to the Atlantic Ocean. At just 21 metres above sea level, its climate is humid oceanic, with very moderate temperatures throughout the year. The annual average temperature is about 14.8 °C, with summer highs of 22 °C and winter lows of 8 °C, making it one of the cities with the smallest temperature range in Spain.

Annual rainfall is around 1,014 mm, concentrated between October and March, though rain can appear at any time. Atlantic exposure makes A Coruna one of the windiest cities in the country, with frequent storms in winter. Coastal fog, known locally as bretema, is a common phenomenon, especially in spring and summer, when warm air meets the cold Atlantic waters.
