Climate in Toledo

Toledo, the capital of the province of the same name and of Castilla-La Mancha, rises on a granite outcrop encircled by a pronounced meander of the Tagus River at 529 metres above sea level, on the southern meseta. Its climate is continental Mediterranean, with very hot summers and moderately cold winters. The annual average temperature is about 15.5 °C, with summer highs that regularly exceed 35 °C and winter lows around 1 °C.

Annual rainfall is approximately 365 mm, with an extremely dry summer and peaks in autumn and spring. Toledo is one of the least rainy cities in central Spain. Frosts occur between November and March, though they are less intense than on the northern meseta. The daily temperature range is very pronounced, with differences of up to 18 °C between day and night in summer. Convective storms in late spring and summer can produce intense rainfall in short periods.
