Climate in Valladolid

Valladolid, the capital of the province of the same name and seat of the Cortes of Castilla y León, extends across the northern meseta at 698 metres above sea level, at the confluence of the Pisuerga and Esgueva rivers. Its climate is continental Mediterranean, with cold, foggy winters and hot summers. The annual average temperature is around 12.7 °C, with summer highs of 31 °C and winter lows that frequently drop below 0 °C.

Annual rainfall totals approximately 433 mm, concentrated in spring and autumn, with a dry summer. Fog is the most distinctive weather phenomenon of Valladolid, appearing very frequently between November and February due to thermal inversións in the Duero basin. These fogs can persist for entire days, keeping maximum temperatures below 5 °C. Frost days exceed 65 per year.
