The ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts) operates the IFS (Integrated Forecasting System) from Reading (UK), regarded as the world's most accurate global model. Resolution: ~9 km, 137 vertical levels, run twice daily.

Ensemble prediction

Besides the deterministic run, ECMWF runs a 51-member ensemble to estimate forecast uncertainty. Its data have been partially open since 2023. AEMET uses ECMWF as the primary guidance for medium-range predictions (3–10 days) in Spain.
